For most people, the ultimate dream is to be able to travel the world. While this is a dream for most people, the major hurdle is the fact they cannot maintain any type of steady income while on the road. But with the advent of portable netbooks and the internet, there are many ways to incorporate income with telecommuting almost anywhere in the world.

Most people think that outside of western nations there is limited internet activity. This can be furthest from the truth. In fact, most of the most wired countries and fastest internet in the world are not in the western world but in Asia. Countries like South Korea, Japan and Thailand have internet capabilities that surpass the United States and other western nations due to the fact that their providers do not cap their downloading or uploading speed.

With astounding internet technology, you can implement many ways to gain income while traveling. If you are going from place to place, you can choose to try online gaming or sports betting sites to grow your travel funds. These sites can be surprisingly lucrative for those who know what they are doing.

One of the best ways to get some extra funds for travel is to take part in the many survey sites available. Most of the surveys these sites offer will be in the range of one dollar. While that may not sound like much money, it is significant if you can earn twenty or thirty dollars for spending a few hours online in countries where you can get a hotel room for ten dollars. And while the majority of surveys are around one dollar, some of these survey sites offer up to 15 dollars per survey.

If you are planning on staying in a specific place for a period of time, then you can try to sell local handmade goods through sites such as eBay or other online marketplaces. None of these options will make you rich, but they will allow you to supplement your travel.

Etsy Has a Wide Range of Gifts for the Holidays

Lovers of handmade, unique goods need look no further than Etsy.com this Christmas season. In case you have never visited the site, Etsy is a loose community of artists and craftsmen who make original pieces. You can find something for even your most picky loved one, regardless of whether they are into clothes, candles, paper goods, toys, jewelry or dolls. The site even has a category for “geekery.”

The prices on Etsy vary significantly by the artist. Most of them, however, charge extremely reasonable prices that make their handcrafted items perfect gifts and stocking stuffer. From the tax news resources we can clearly understand it including tax and shipping fees, you could easily buy gifts at the website for under $20 a piece. That’s great news for people with a refined taste but not a lot of spare cash.

When you purchase items from these independent artists, you also get to support local art scenes across the country. Most of the people selling their items on Etsy have day jobs. They use the website to support their hobbies and pursue their crafts. They aren’t in it to make a fortune, but they do want enough money to make all of the time they spend a worthy endeavor. They couldn’t possibly make ends meet just by selling their products to local consumers, so they turn to the Internet to help them grow.

In addition to helping independent artists, you also get the opportunity to give your friends and relatives unique gifts that are unlike anything they have ever seen before. Sure, you could just run down to Wal-Mart to buy your gifts, but those items don’t have the same soul as handmade crafts from Etsy’s artists. When you buy from an independent artist, you get original vision as well as items that look great in someone’s home or closet.

Business Cards Are Not Just for Business

People have been handing out business cards for years. Sales people make contacts that they hope will generate business down the road and distribute their cards to make sure people know how to find them when they need their services. It is a great way to establish professional relationships, but it makes me wonder why they are only used for business.

You can have anything printed on the small cards these days, and I think they would be great for things like birth announcements and graduation announcements. You can include color photos and all the pertinent information on the card in vivid detail. I have been receiving a number of small magnetic cards in the mail recently from friends who are getting married with a “Save the Date” message that you put on the refrigerator. These cards can work for anything.

Business cards can also make great gifts. Wondering what to get the college graduate? Custom cards are perfect. If you are not sure what to put on the card or how to design it, just give them a gift certificate. Know someone starting up a new business? Cards make an excellent gift for them as well.

The business cards sold today are more colorful and more detailed than ever before. New digital printers can reproduce copies of photos and images of all kinds, giving you a ton of options on how to design the card. Heavy card stock that is used to print the cards is better than ever before and less expensive. It is also now possible to print in color on both sides of the card with a glossy finish or matte. Whether you use the cards for business or for more creative purposes, you will love how they look and what you can do with them. I know I certainly do.

Benefits of Tourism

There are a number of benefits that the tourism industry can provide a country. It can offer jobs to many people in the country, generate income for the country and make the country more popular to people around the world. This helps to promote foreign investments and help to promote importing and exporting products to and from the country.

A booming tourism industry helps to create jobs in the country because hotels, car rental agencies, restaurants, tour companies and souvenir shops all need people to staff them. With jobs comes more locals spending money in their own community. This helps to keep local shops in business, as when tourism season is at a low they will still need to make money, and the locals are what will keep them open. Tourism helps not only the larger government by boosting the economy, but helps small businesses do the same.

The tourism industry will generate income because tourists are coming to spend money. Money will be spent on hotels, rental cars, food and all other things they may need on vacation. This money will boost the economy and allow the country to provide better services to their residents. This may include more social services, better education programs and schools, better government programs and a chance to fix streets or other parts of the country that may need assistance.

Finally, by promoting the popularity of a country as a great place to visit, the country will have better opportunities to receive foreign investments and funds. This will help companies to get started or stay in business. If investors are familiar with the country they are much more likely to invest money and provide assistance when needed. Also, a company may move some of it’s business dealings to foreign countries, and more likely pick a country that is well-known with a booming tourism industry.
